Allows restricted access to your database instance by adding EC2 Security Groups to the DBSecurityGroup or by specifying an allowed IP range.

  • Input
    • AWSAccessKeyId The Access Key ID provided by Amazon Web Services.
    • AWSSecretKeyId The Secret Key ID provided by Amazon Web Services.
    • CIDRIP IP range that should have access. Required unless EC2SecurityGroupName and EC2SecurityGroupOwnerId are used.
    • DBSecurityGroupName A unique name for the security group you want to authorize.
    • EC2SecurityGroupId The ID of the EC2 security group to authorize. For VPC DB security groups, this is required. Otherwise, EC2SecurityGroupOwnerId and either EC2SecurityGroupName or EC2SecurityGroupId must be provided.
    • EC2SecurityGroupName The EC2 security group to authorize. This and EC2SecurityGroupOwnerId are required if CIDRIP is not used.
    • EC2SecurityGroupOwnerId The AWS account number for the security group owner. This and EC2SecurityGroupName are required if CIDRIP is not used.

    • This Choreo uses your AWS Keys to authenticate your account with Amazon, and modifies the database security group so that you can allow restricted access to your database instance. This can be achieved in one of two ways. First, EC2 Security Groups can be added to the database security group if the application that needs access to the database is running on EC2 instances that reside in the same region. Alternatively, you can specify an allowed IP range. The documentation for this RDS resource can be found here.

      Note that the UserRegion input can be used to access an AWS endpoint in one of the following regions:

      • US East (Northern Virginia) Region: us-east-1
      • US West (Oregon) Region: us-west-2
      • US West (Northern California) Region: us-west-1
      • EU (Ireland) Region: eu-west-1
      • Asia Pacific (Singapore) Region: ap-southeast-1
      • Asia Pacific (Sydney) Region: ap-southeast-2
      • Asia Pacific (Tokyo) Region: ap-northeast-1
      • South America (Sao Paulo) Region: sa-east-1
