This bundle contains functions to help generate OAuth access tokens for your application's users.

  • Setup Instructions

    • To use these Choreos:

      • You'll need a Fitbit account. If you don't already have one, you can sign up here.
      • Register an application in order to obtain a Fitbit Client ID and Client Secret.
        • Select the OAuth 2.0 application type with the server option. If you need access to intraday time series data such as Heart Rate or Activity, you should choose Personal.
        • Specify this Callback URL on the application form:
      https://{Your Temboo Account Name}.temboolive.com/callback/fitbit
      • Select the default access type that your app needs.
      • Save your app's configuration.
      • Run the InitializeOAuth Choreo, specifying the Client ID from the app you registered at Fitbit. Make sure to specify the appropriate permissions for the Scope input. The InitializeOAuth Choreo will return an Authorization URL and a Callback ID (required for the FinalizeOAuth step).
      • Open a new web browser, navigate to the Authorization URL returned by the InitializeOAuth Choreo, and click "allow" to grant the app access to your Fitbit account.
      • Run the FinalizeOAuth Choreo, specifying the Callback ID returned earlier by the InitializeOAuth Choreo, to obtain the OAuth Access Token that can be used to access the Fitbit API.
      • Save the RefreshToken returned by FinalizeOAuth. You can use this token with the RefreshToken Choreo when the Access Token expires.

    • Fitbit.OAuth.FinalizeOAuth

      Completes the OAuth process by retrieving a Fitbit access token, token secret and encoded user id (UserID) for a user, after they have visited the authorization URL returned by the InitializeOAuth choreo and clicked "allow."
