Creates a new device in a product batch for each serial number provided. When created, each device will be in a pre-registered state awaiting activation. Creating a non-product-affiliated device is not available through the Xively API, and can only be done through the browser-only Xively Developer Workbench.

  • Input
    • APIKey The API Key provided by Xively.
    • ProductID The product ID for the device you would like to add.
    • SerialNumbers Comma-separated list of device serial numbers to add. Allowed characters: case-sensitive alphanumeric characters (Ab3) and the following characters: "+", "-", "_", and ":". Ex: abc:123,aBc-124.
  • Output
    • ResponseStatusCode The response status code returned from Xively. For a successful device creation, the code should be 201.

      Add a sensor or actuator via the virtual pin board above to generate compiled code for sensor data graphs and remote actuator control.

    • This Choreo creates a new (product-affiliated only) device for each serial number given in your Xively account. To create a device that is unaffiliated to a product, you must use the brower-only Xively Developer Workbench.

      The documentation for this Xively resource can be found here.

      The following is an example list of acceptable inputs:

      APIKey: {YOUR XIVELY API KEY}
      ProductID: {YOUR XIVELY PRODUCT ID}
      SerialNumbers: abc123,bcd-234,345-CDe

      You must include at least one serial number. Serial numbers are case-sensitive (i.e. ABC123 is a different serial than abc123), and the allowed characters are case-sensitive alphanumeric characters (Ab3) and the following characters: "+", "-", "_", and ":".

      For a successful device creation, the ResponseStatusCode should be 201.
